First Aid Symposium in Vienna

Last November, the heart of Hellenism in Vienna beat to a different, more hopeful rhythm. We travelled to the Austrian capital to hold a special two-day First Aid Symposium, an initiative that proved that when a community comes together, it can achieve great things.

The power of cooperation

The event would not have been possible without the valuable support of our people there. On the initiative of the Consulate of Greece in Vienna and with the warm hospitality of the Holy Metropolis of Austria at the emblematic Holy Church of the Holy Trinity, we created a space for learning and giving.

By our side, as fellow travellers and communication sponsors, stood the company Iss Mich, the Lyceum of Greek Women of Vienna and the Association of Greek Students and Scientists of Vienna (SEFEV).

Two days full of life-saving knowledge

Over the two days (15 & 16 November), Life Support Hub shared crucial skills with the Greeks of Vienna. On Saturday we focused on Paediatric Basic Life Support, learning how to protect our little ones. On Sunday we focused on First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults.

From managing a choking incident to the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), every participant left with more confidence and the knowledge to act calmly in a moment of need.

A big thank you

Leaving Vienna, what remains is not only the technical knowledge we shared, but the sense of solidarity. It is moving to see people give their time to learn how to help others, while at the same time supporting their homeland from afar.
